We were contracted by Maxim Partnerships, Principal Contractor to carry out civils works for the construction of a new CT Scanner unit at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil for Cwm Taff University Health Board.
The building was to be located with an existing courtyard accessed only over the existing operating wing of the hospital. We have completed numerous successful projects with Maxim Partnership and with extremely difficult access we were chosen to work with them here. Our works comprised of removal of existing and paving and planting areas to formation. Diversion of existing foul and storm stewers while maintaining flows. Excavation for and construction off the sub-structure comprising pad and strip foundations and a reinforced concrete slab. All material movements were using a crane and skips and careful coordination ensured minimum crane
Operatives had excellent attitude to work and put extra effort in when it was needed, this was a demanding scheme which could very easily have gone wrong but the collaborative attitude shown by Horizons operatives produced a very successful scheme.
Would highly recommend Horizon to others and would definitely be using again.
